About us
Bristol Youth Connect (BYC) is a grassroots community organisation that advocates and empowers disadvantaged young people and families from Bristol and surrounding areas. Primarily, young people from ethnic minority backgrounds who live in the most deprived areas of the city. We are a BAME-led organisation, we stand to empower and inspire disadvantaged young people to lead active, healthy, productive and law-abiding lives. We offer a wide range of services to foster the physical, emotional, and mental development of young people.
We support all the children and young people, build their abilities, confidence, and resilience to lead happy active and productive lives. We imply cultural understanding to better provide free, accessible, responsive and community-led youth provisions. We work with most marginalised young people and families from Bristol, our staff and volunteers represent the community we serve, and we have trust and positive working relationship with community we work, and our mission is to provide culturally responsive support to contribute tackling down the challenges of the social, economic and health inequality in our society and promote welfare and development of young people and the wider community.

Our mission is to engage, support, and empower young people across Bristol and the surrounding areas. We are committed to fostering their development and growth by creating accessible, equitable, and inclusive opportunities that enable them to reach their full potential. We recognise that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work for everyone.
That is why we apply cultural awareness, sensitivity, and understanding to ensure our services are responsive to the diverse needs of our service users. Our mission is to create safe, inclusive spaces where disadvantaged young people and their families can address their concerns, express their needs, thrive, and actively contribute to the solutions and changes they wish to see in their lives and communities.

Our values are centred on reaching out, engaging, empowering, and supporting disadvantaged young people in Bristol who are disproportionately affected by inequality and deprivation, providing culturally responsive support to help young people reach their full potential and create opportunities for them and their families so that no one is left behind. Our services are designed to tackle inequality and contribute to making Bristol a fairer and better place to live.

We recognise that a “one-size-fits-all” approach does not meet the diverse needs, backgrounds, and aspirations of the young people we serve. Therefore, we aim to offer safe and meaning space where young people can address issues affecting to their lives, while also working to influence policymakers to ensure that services across Bristol are culturally appropriate, inclusive, and genuinely accessible to all young people.
Our Approach.
Bristol Youth Connect (BYC) has been working and supporting communities at a grass root level, and Familiar with challenges, gaps and needs of the community. Our highly trained staff and volunteers have trust and relationship with community groups that work with us. We imply cultural understanding to engage, support and maintain a positive relationship with our service users.
Our friendly and trained staff engage with young people and the community at their own grounds and provide warm and welcoming pathway to access our services. Bristol Youth Connect supports young people to reach their full potential regardless of their background. We work with most marginalised young people who face most barriers who have had a difficult start in life.
We provide culturally responsive support to foster their development and support them to reach their potential. We collaboratively work with a wide range of stakeholders to include young people, families, schools, local authorities and other organisations to provide appropriate support and maximise the full benefit for our service users.
