Our programs

Bristol Somali youth voice provides a wide range of services to foster the development and growth of young people

Community Voice & Empowerment.

We facilitate community engagement events that bring together young people, adults, professionals, and a range of community stakeholders to discuss issues that matter most to the community. These conversations help us understand the community’s evolving needs and address concerns that residents identify as priorities. Through these events, we share information about our services, connect people to local support, and ensure our work remains community-led, responsive, and flexible. This platform also allows us to educate the community about other services available in the area and to advocate for their needs and priorities, ensuring that their voices are heard and represented. Our engagement events also support intergenerational discussions, where young people, adults, and professionals come together to talk openly about challenges and co-develop practical, responsive, and achievable solutions at the grassroots level. This helps strengthen relationships, build understanding, and empower the community to drive the changes they want to see.

Open access session for junior youth

We provide a wide range of playful and creative activities for children between age of 5-13 years to help them positively socialise and engage in meaningful experiences. We offer different activities include football, basketball, arts and drawing, music, dance, tug-of-war, and other activities that reflect the needs and interests of diverse young people. We create a welcoming, supportive, and safe space that helps young people grow into resilient, reflective, and responsible individuals. Our activities are fun, educational, and creative, for more information, please feel free to reach us.

Up skill Training & Employment

We provide upskilling training designed to improve the knowledge, confidence, and skills of young people. For example, we offer 1:1 employment support sessions to help young people prepare for work and receive the guidance they need to find suitable jobs. Many young people are unemployed, underemployed, or have skills that do not match employers’ expectations. This is where we provide tailored support, helping them develop strong CVs that reflect their experience and potential. Our job coaches also run mock interviews to build confidence and strengthen communication skills, increasing the likelihood of positive outcomes. We aim to inspire young people to access volunteering or paid employment opportunities by offering support that is appropriate, practical, and culturally responsive. Some of our services depend on the availability of active or ongoing projects. To learn more or to access our support, please feel welcome to contact us.

Trips to countryside.

We provide trips to the countryside to give young people especially those from underrepresented communities to access to nature and green spaces. These trips offer opportunities to interact with the natural environment and develop both recreational and educational experiences. Trips are often organised during school holidays, and we are committed to offering these experiences to as many young people as possible. Our activities are community-led, engaging, and designed to create positive, lasting experiences with nature. Some of our services depend on active or ongoing projects, so we encourage anyone interested to get in touch to learn more.

Outdoor activities at local parks.

We provide outdoor activities in green spaces, offering participants opportunities to take part in physical activity such as walking, jogging, and group exercises while socialising in a positive and supportive environment. We offer a wide range of inclusive activities designed to inspire people of different abilities and aspirations to get involved and engage with our support. We embed the Five Ways to Wellbeing into our sessions, recognising that spending time in nature can significantly boost mental wellbeing. Our activities are accessible, culturally appropriate, and community-friendly. Some of our services depend on the availability of active or ongoing projects. To learn more or to access our support, please feel welcome to contact us.

Youth sessions

We provide different sport activities for young people between age of 16-25. Include open access sessions to give young people an opportunity to involve physical activities, socialise and develop bonding friendships with other young people. Our sessions are free and young people can self refer.
